Our goal is to provide access to and offer mental health services for BIPOC women who have no health insurance or has health insurance with a high deductible OR has had limited, insufficient, or no access to psychological services AND have been impacted by the prison industrial complex [including all its tentacles].
Objectives
- Introduce mindfulness tools and practices
- Offer an introduction and positive experience to psychotherapy
- Provide additional skills and techniques to enhance clients existing resources and tools
- Educate client on grief, trauma, stress responses and symptoms
- Decrease intensity of trauma and/or grief symptoms
Commitment
15-20 therapy sessions provided by a license therapist on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of each month*
Eligibility
- Income below $85K
- A BIPOC woman with no health insurance or has health insurance with a high deductible OR
- A BIPOC woman who has been directly (former incarcerated individual) or indirectly (adult female family member or spouse/partner of a current or former incarcerated individual) affected by the prison system
- Resides in the state of GA
- Access to a computer/phone/tablet with a camera and internet access**
