About Maranda

A Little About Me..

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and owner of Elysium Consulting LLC, a private psychotherapy practice in Atlanta Georgia. I received a Masters in Social Work from the University of Georgia and Bachelors of Art in Psychology (Honors) from Spelman College. I am currently licensed in GA, SC, IL, TX, FL and MO.

I have over 20 years of clinical experience in the mental health and social work fields working with diverse populations from children to the elderly. Throughout the course of my career including positions at Grady Hospital, St. Jude’s Recovery Center and Partnership Against Domestic Violence, I have provided services to adults and children impacted by trauma, grief and loss, substance abuse, mood disorders, domestic violence, medical illness, homelessness and other complex personal issues.

In my private practice, I work with individual adults and groups. My specialties include trauma, PTSD, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, domestic violence, stress management, and chronic medical illness. I tend to utilize more Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy and trauma-informed therapy techniques in my treatment approach but it depends on the person and what works best for them. It is important that my clients feel supported and can share their feelings and stories in a safe and non-judgmental space. My goal is to serve as a guide to help clients work through difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences, gain insight and self-awareness, feel safe again, achieve personal goals, and bring mindfulness and balance to their lives. Seeing shifts and changes in my clients, from baby steps to seismic ones, is a tremendous joy.

I look forward to working with you and/or a loved one on the path to thriving and living your best life.
